The LINE DC's Community Impact
The Adams Morgan Community Center is a 4,000 sq. ft. community and nonprofit incubator space at the LINE DC. Our mission is to support and empower the artistic and philanthropic endeavors of our neighborhood while celebrating the rich history of the Adams Morgan area.
Community Partnerships/Events 2018-2019
MLK Day: Hosted a neighborhood cleanup; donated supplies and food; partnered with AMYLA, AMPBID; live music was provided by local musician Maimouna Youssef
Hosted events/fundraisers/student tutoring sessions/staff meetings
Donated gift certificates
Capital Fringe artists utilized the space to rehearse their plays prior to the festival
Hosted Night of 1000 Frida’s Adams Morgan event with local photographer, Nancy Shia and ANC
Free Community Classes At The LINE
The Adams Morgan Community Center welcomes artists and nonprofit organizations from across the city to apply to use the space – which includes Carina East, a satellite meeting space located in the LINE DC – for events and exhibits, with priority scheduling allowed to those headquartered in Ward 1 of Washington, DC.
Over the past year, the Adams Morgan Community Center has offered free community classes and workshops to Ward 1 and DC residents.
Yoga for Every Body: Two sessions of inclusive yoga classes
K2P2: Bi-weekly knitting circle
AMYLA: Open jam night and business workshop
Armonia DC: Weekly Zumba classes for moms
ARTxVIBEZ: Panels for artists on running successful businesses
The Common Market: Event for neighbors to meet local farmers
District Music Project: Weekly drop-in choir practice
Nancy Bratton: Event for local photographers
Library Takeout : A satellite library
Kadampa Meditation: Introductory meditation workshops
